Palmetto Precision Machining holds ISO 9001 certification and operates as a custom fabricator of a broad range of mechanical components. Its product catalog includes gears of many configurations—spur, helical, worm, bevel, spiral, spline, serration, sprocket, broaching and pulley—as well as shafts, sprockets, pulleys, studs, bushings, rollers, spacers, electromechanical assemblies, and a full line of jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Additional items such as collars, drives, gear blanks, pins, sleeves, shims and dies are also manufactured to customer specifications. Production capabilities span a wide array of processes. The shop performs honing and broaching, conventional sawing and band sawing, abrasive blasting, and welding using MIG, TIG or stick techniques. Turning operations can accommodate parts up to 16 inches in diameter and 42 inches in length, while milling capacity reaches 10 inches by 52 inches. Gear cutting equipment handles diameters up to 36 inches OD and 48 inches ID. Grinding services include cylindrical, surface and Blanchard surface grinding for workpieces up to 4 inches in diameter and 18 inches long, and the inspection department is equipped to measure components as large as 24 inches × 38 inches × 22 inches. The firm serves customers across all sectors, with particular experience in the automotive market, and its products comply with applicable military specifications.
