Genx Corp. designs and builds fourteen optical comparators that incorporate precision‑ground, coated optics for both image and dual‑surface illumination, delivering accurate magnification and a clear screen image. Each unit features an electronic metrology display with an RS‑232 bidirectional serial port, enabling connection to computers or printers. The instruments are mounted in all‑steel cabinets equipped with steerable casters for mobility. Dual‑surface illumination is provided by a 1000‑watt fan‑cooled light source, while a fan‑cooled variable‑intensity shadow‑image projection lamp supplies adjustable lighting. Lenses are pre‑calibrated for power levels of 10, 20, 31.25, 50 and 62.50. Options include an electronic microprocessor, digital read‑out, edge‑detection circuitry, or dial indicators with .0001/.002 mm scales. Measuring surfaces are fabricated from cast iron.
