AVS, Inc. (Advanced Vacuum Systems) designs and manufactures custom furnaces for a broad spectrum of processes, including debinding, sintering, sinter‑HIP, brazing, bonding, melting, quenching, pressing and deposition. The company offers both vacuum‑type and pressure‑type furnaces that are fully tailored to each client’s specifications for load size, weight, temperature, uniformity, vacuum level, pressure and gas atmosphere. All engineering and production activities are performed at AVS’s primary facility in Ayer, Massachusetts. In‑house capabilities encompass furnace concept development, detailed engineering, ASME‑certified welding, controls engineering, complete integration of complex furnace systems, final assembly and ongoing technical support. Fabrication capacity spans from miniature units as small as a 4‑inch (100 mm) diameter hot zone to large chambers exceeding 12 feet (4 m) in length. Customers can choose graphite or metal hot zones, and the equipment can operate under extreme conditions such as temperatures up to 3,000 °C, vacuums down to 10⁻⁶ torr, and gas pressures as high as 3,000 psig (200 bar). Hot‑press solutions range from modest 5‑ton hydraulic presses to high‑capacity machines delivering more than 2,000 tons of force, providing flexibility for demanding industrial applications.
