Company record
The Shepherd Color Company manufactures complex inorganic colored pigments (CIPs), a class recognized for superior stability and durability. These pigments deliver outstanding heat resistance, chemical resistance, light fastness, and weatherability. They are formulated for use in high‑performance liquid systems—including premium coil, high‑heat, and industrial applications—as well as in powder coatings. Additional end‑use markets include vinyl, polyolefin and engineering‑polymer plastics and fibers, concrete and other cementitious products, and glass enamels. FDA approval permits the pigments to be employed in sensitive contexts such as direct and incidental food contact and cosmetics. The company also offers specialty pigments engineered for infrared reflectivity, supporting camouflage and military applications.
