Saint‑Gobain Bearings & Tolerance Rings designs and produces both standard and custom bearing solutions as well as tolerance rings. Its plain bearings feature a metal‑reinforced construction with a low‑friction PTFE coating that provides self‑lubricating performance, and material choices are matched to the specific demands of each application. The tolerance rings are forged from spring or carbon steel and various alloys, creating fasteners that secure bearings, transmit torque, protect against overload, and accommodate axial slip between mating parts. Applications span automotive powertrain components, interior seating, pedals, headrests, hinges, steering systems, and bicycle parts such as pedals, forks, brake levers and derailleurs. Additional markets include electronic hard‑disk drives, industrial valves and pumps, and residential HVAC systems.
