INSACO, Inc. delivers precision machining and polishing services for ultra‑hard materials tailored to customer specifications. The company supports both prototype development and full‑scale production across the entire spectrum of technical ceramics, crystals and glasses, including alumina, sapphire, quartz, boron carbide, tungsten carbide, silicon, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, zirconia, Pyrex®, borosilicate, Zerodur® and Macor®. Operations are housed in an 80,000 sq ft facility equipped with tooling capable of handling multiple features as well as internal and external diameters. Lapping, honing and polishing processes are applied to flat and cylindrical components, achieving tight tolerances and surface finishes measured to the angstrom level. Metrology resources comprise a coordinate‑measuring machine, laser interferometer, laser micrometer, vision system and cylindricity assessment tools. A Class 100 cleanroom is maintained on site, and automated equipment enables lights‑out production to boost throughput. INSACO’s engineering staff is available to advise on material selection and manufacturability considerations.
