Acuity Research, Inc. designs and manufactures laser‑based rangefinding, displacement sensing, and scanning solutions. Its product portfolio features two primary families. The AR600 series comprises eleven programmable triangulation sensors that cover measurement spans from one‑eighth inch to fifty inches. These devices deliver accuracy equal to one‑thousandth of full scale and resolution of one‑three‑thousandth of full scale, and they can interrogate any surface type—including clear glass, plastic, and polished finishes—at sampling rates reaching 1,250 measurements per second. The AR4000 line offers both visible‑light and infrared time‑of‑flight models with a range of zero to 54 feet and a nominal accuracy of 0.1 inch. Standard AR4000 units are capable of capturing data from typical surfaces at rates up to 50,000 samples per second, while a low‑power variant is optimized for detecting reflective tape. Additionally, the AR4000 family includes a line‑scanner configuration for detailed profiling applications.
