Fraunhofer USA – Center for Laser Applications (CLA) delivers laser cladding, laser welding and laser heat‑treatment solutions. The organization supports process development and contract research, offers additive manufacturing and rapid‑prototype capabilities, and provides consulting, engineering, as well as wear‑ and corrosion‑protection and remanufacturing services. Specialized cladding options include internal‑diameter (ID) cladding, induction‑assisted laser cladding and diamond cladding. Its welding portfolio covers laser beam welding, remote laser welding, laser hybrid welding and induction‑assisted laser welding. CLA works with a broad alloy spectrum, handling nickel, steel, cobalt, titanium, aluminum, copper alloys and tungsten carbide. The client base spans automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, offshore, power generation, paper and pulp, shipbuilding, alternative energy, mining, defense, construction equipment and chemical sectors.
