ASTM International develops and maintains a comprehensive portfolio of technical standards—including specifications, test methods, practices, guides and definitions—covering sectors such as metals, paints, petroleum, construction, energy, environmental protection, plastics, textiles, consumer products, medical services and devices, electronics and additional fields. These documents serve global markets for purchasing decisions, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and product design. The content of every standard is authored by participants in ASTM’s 132 technical committees, while voluntary technical research and testing are contributed by a worldwide network of roughly 34,000 members. Each year, nearly 9,000 new standards are issued across the 70 volumes that comprise the annual ASTM Standards collection.
