Company record
Accu-Clutch Company, Inc. manufactures tensioning and torque‑limiting clutches, brakes and couplings. Its permanent‑magnet designs operate without external power, while rare‑earth magnets deliver the highest torque per unit size. The torque output is exceptionally smooth, eliminating stick‑slip behavior. Hysteresis and magnetic‑particle variants provide a constant torque characteristic, whereas eddy‑current models generate torque that rises with slip speed. Available torque ranges from 0.015 to 400 in‑lb, covering diameters from 0.63 to 6.00 in.
