American Gear, Inc. designs and produces fine‑to‑medium pitch small gears and related components. The firm holds ISO 9001:2008 certification and offers a full line of gear types—spur, helical, bevel, miter, worm, sector and segmented gears—as well as timing pulleys, splines, screw‑machine parts, ratchets and sprockets in both standard and metric dimensions. Prototype parts and complete assemblies can be supplied on request. Gear blanks are machined up to a 6‑inch diameter with diametric pitches ranging from 12 to 200. Production utilizes virtually any machinable material, including plain carbon, alloy and stainless steels, brass, bronze, aluminum, phenolic resin, nylon and Delrin®. The company’s machining capabilities encompass CNC milling, vertical machining, and turning operations capable of handling workpieces up to 8 inches, along with gear hobbing, shaping, screw machining, O.D. and surface grinding, and hydraulic or drill pressing with 2‑to‑6‑ton capacity. Heat‑treating and a variety of finishing processes are also available. American Gear, Inc. serves customers in commercial, municipal, aviation, nautical, industrial, military, film and medical sectors.
