Ird Switches designs and manufactures custom and off‑the‑shelf multi‑position, multi‑poled rotary switches intended for rugged environmental, military, and commercial avionics use. The switches can handle electrical loads as high as 15 amps, while also supporting low‑current applications. Options include gold‑plated contacts, hermetically sealed units, and other environmentally protected components, and each contact typically provides a single‑pole‑double‑throw (SPDT) output. In addition, Ird Switches produces modular, environmentally sealed elastomeric keypad assemblies for demanding industrial control and military systems. The keypads are offered in 12‑key or 16‑key layouts, with a variety of terminal configurations and legend options that can be customized to meet specific design requirements. All products comply with NEMA 4 and NEMA 13 enclosure standards and satisfy MIL‑STD‑202 and MIL‑STD‑810 performance specifications.
