Reading Anthracite Co. supplies anthracite coal and its proprietary Philterkol® anthracite filter medium. The operation holds ISO 9002 certification and reports anthracite reserves estimated at 1.5 billion tons. Its product portfolio features low‑sulfur, high‑BTU, high‑fixed‑carbon coal that meets all standard six‑size specifications and is marketed to both domestic and international customers. End‑users employ the coal for carbon additives, raw carbon material, coke production, fuel, gas generation, process carbon, reduction carbon, as well as for sintering, pelletizing and agglomerating applications. Philterkol® is hydraulically classified and screened to precise size ranges, making it suitable for filtration tasks that previously relied on silica or quartz sands.
