Sun Grinding delivers high‑tolerance surface grinding solutions that encompass close‑tolerance, precision and miniature grinding for manufacturers. The operation employs three principal grinding methods—Blanchard, Mattison and centerless—to meet a broad range of application needs. It processes hot‑roll steel, cold‑roll steel, stainless steel, tool steel, aluminum, various alloys, brass and copper. On the Blanchard grinder, the shop performs roughing, hard‑material stock removal, work on weldments, bolster plates for press dies, stamping dies and stress‑relieved components. Centerless grinding is capable of achieving close tolerances on bars up to 12 in. long with diameters of 0.500 in. or smaller. The Mattison grinder provides finishing operations, post‑machining and post‑heat‑treat grinding, and can attain total‑indicator readings below 0.0005 in across a 24 in. W × 62 in. L area. Sun Grinding also accepts drop‑shipments directly from steel suppliers.
