SOURIAU PA&E Bonded Metals Division provides custom fabricating, welding and sealing services that are certified to ISO 9001:2000 and AS 9100 standards. The division employs explosive bonding, explosive hydroforming and explosive shock hardening to meet demanding engineering requirements. By using explosive bonding, it can join dissimilar metals while enhancing overall strength, corrosion resistance and radiation shielding, and it offers transitional composites that link metal to ceramic, metal to composite, or metal to metal. Explosive hydroforming replicates stamping, pressing, spinning and hot‑stretch forming, enabling the production of parts and tooling as large as 20 ft. Explosive shock hardening is capable of creating a hardened layer up to a quarter of an inch deep in fabricated components. The operation serves customers in the defense, aerospace, transportation, medical and commercial sectors.
