SUEZ

SUEZ's 2024 sustainable-development indicator tables report an 11.795 million tonne group total under “tonnes recovered” and a 48.8% waste recovery rate. Those are company-defined aggregate indicators, not a list of material grades, buyers or uncommitted tonnes. Newer company disclosures give more specific routes: 0.3 million tonnes of French biowaste recovered in 2025, 12 anaerobic digestion plants with 400,000 tonnes per year of capacity, and a Gruppo Ecosistem industrial-waste business acquired in 2025. A separate Novacarb solid-recovered-fuel project remains an energy substitution pathway with future commissioning language. The page keeps each perimeter and status distinct.

A useful group indicator, not a product catalogue

SUEZ's 2024 table reports 11.795 million tonnes under “tonnes recovered” and a 48.8% waste recovery rate. The table does not break the tonnage into customer-ready material grades or available supply. Treat both values as company-defined group indicators; do not present them as recycled commodity output.

Newer examples show why the perimeter matters

SUEZ reports 0.3 million tonnes of biowaste recovered in France during 2025 and says 12 anaerobic digestion plants can treat 400,000 tonnes per year. These are national recovery and plant-capacity measures with different bases. The company's separate Gruppo Ecosistem example reports 655,000 tonnes of industrial waste treated in Italy in 2025, with over 90% recovered, but does not specify a single grade or saleable volume.

Energy recovery is not material recycling

SUEZ describes a Novacarb project that will use non-recyclable waste to produce steam through solid recovered fuel. The company page says the plant is intended to treat nearly 140,000 tonnes per year from 2026. The wording is prospective. Keep that project separate from actual recycling output and verify commissioning, feedstock, fuel specification, operating status and buyer contract before relying on a current-flow assumption.

Material Transition editorial interpretation

Choose a geography, business unit and material pathway. For recycling, request actual output by grade and destination. For biowaste, separate feedstock, digestate, biogas and capacity. For Gruppo Ecosistem, verify the post-acquisition site, permit, waste code, recovered output and buyer specification. For Novacarb, treat the SRF route as fuel and energy, not recycled-material supply.
