Indian municipal waste processing

Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited

Antony Waste’s evidence-backed material lane sits inside municipal solid-waste processing, not in an assumed ash-recovery market. In its FY2024 to 25 integrated report, the company said it managed 4.93 million metric tonnes across its portfolio. It also reported that the Pimpri-Chinchwad waste-to-energy facility completed its first full commercial year, averaged an 82% plant-load factor and delivered more than 90 million green units to the grid. Separately, the company said the PCMC project was registered to qualify for EPR credits through its plastic-processing operations. These are distinct flows: waste managed, electricity generated and plastic processed for the EPR program. None establishes a named polymer grade, recovered-plastic volume, ash composition or open product supply. A useful materials conversation should start with the PCMC sorting and plastic-processing boundary, request the recovered polymer and contamination profile, and establish whether the EPR feedstock and any resulting material are controlled by Antony, the municipal client or a project subsidiary. The firm’s newer 2026 site metrics are cumulative and dated to June 2026; they should not be mixed with FY2025 annual figures.

FY2025 portfolio throughput has a clear reporting period

The integrated annual report says Antony’s group managed 4.93 million metric tonnes of waste in FY2024 to 25 across collection and transportation and processing. This is a group portfolio throughput figure, not recovered-material tonnage, a single-site input figure or saleable inventory. Keep the reporting year and company boundary attached whenever using it.

PCMC combines power generation and plastic processing

The company reports that its Pimpri-Chinchwad WtE plant completed its first full commercial year, averaging an 82% plant-load factor and delivering over 90 million green units to the grid. The annual report separately says the PCMC project registered for EPR credits through plastic-processing operations. Electricity output and EPR-registered processing do not disclose polymer output, quality or ownership; these need a facility-level balance.

Do not infer a commodity from the incinerator residue

The public material reviewed does not provide a current PCMC ash assay, recovery yield, beneficial-use approval or contracted buyer. Ash recovery is therefore not presented as an established Antony product lane. It remains a diligence question, alongside the documented but unquantified plastic-processing stream.

Material Transition editorial interpretation

Request a PCMC line diagram and 12-month mass balance that separately reports incoming waste, removed recyclables, plastic-processing input and output, RDF or other residual fuel, bottom ash, fly ash, rejects and electricity. Confirm the legal operator, EPR registration boundary, material ownership, test methods, permits, polymer grade, contamination, monthly quantity and existing offtake obligations. Do not describe ash as a recovered product unless a facility-specific specification and buyer pathway are documented.

Official company page describes the PCMC project as 1,000 tonnes/day input design and 14 MW, and says it uses recycled water. Design capacity is not actual throughput. The annual report is used for FY2025 operating evidence.

Official homepage labels its scale figures as of June 2026 and distinguishes cumulative waste processed since project inception from annual handling. These later cumulative measures are intentionally not combined with FY2025 group throughput.
